Buying wholesale hammocks in Merida, Mexico
We are in Merida to talk to our hammock supplier. He has a great shop downtown near the main market. Looking in, at first glance, you would think the store sells just cotton: there are hundreds of brightly coloured bales of cotton on each wall, stacked to the ceiling all the way to the back of the shop.
The cotton for our hammocks is manufactured by our suppliers then is sent to more than 500 families, who weave the cotton into hammocks in remote villages of Chumayel, Yucatan, Mexico.
Our hammocks are handmade using 100% raw cotton cord, with nylon end-strings for strength. Because our suppliers produce the cotton strings to make our hammocks, we can offer the lowest prices in the market for this quality and size of hammock.
Yucatan hammocks are famous the world over for their weave – they are woven so that they will mold to any body shape, making them supremely comfortable to lie or sleep in.
